Local Ecumenical Partnerships in the Black Country


There are six different categories of Local Ecumenical Partnerships between different denominations, viz.

  1.     Single Congregation Partnership
  2.      Congregations in Covenanted Partnership
  3.      Shared Building Partnership
  4.      Chaplaincy Partnership
  5.      Mission Partnership
  6.      Education Partnership

The Local Ecumenical Partnerships in the Black Country are:

The Black Country Urban Industrial Mission 
     Anglican, Methodist, United Reformed, Baptist (Categories 4 & 5)

Bromley/Pensnett Methodist & Anglican (not active at present) (Category 3)

Caldmore  two Anglican congregations, Methodist, Catholic (Category 2)

Lye  United Reformed & Methodist (Categories 1 & 3)

Penn  Anglican, United Reformed, Methodist, Catholic (Category 2)

Perton Anglican & United Reformed (Categories 1 & 3)

Pheasey Anglican & Methodist (Categories 1 & 3)

Sedgley United Reformed & Methodist (Categories 1 & 3)

Stowlawn Methodist & Anglican (Categories 1 & 3)

TettenhallAnglican, Catholic, United Reformed (Category 2)

Walsalltwo Anglican, Methodist, United Reformed (Category 5)

In theory, the Sponsoring Body appoints a Befriender to act as its link person with each LEP.  In practice at the moment the team is incomplete.  How to be a Befriender (in case, dear Reader, you feel the call) is spelt out in a paper "The Effective Befriender" (click on the link at the top).
